MoMs Rejoice! The day to celebrate you is almost upon us.
Fathers reading this and realizing that you’ve completely forgotten, don’t hit the panic button just yet, All Times has you covered!
We’ve come up with a fun DIY project that involves the whole family (and are environmentally friendly).
Here’s what we came up with: “Up-cycled” All Times bottle ‘vase’ or ‘light’. This is a project for the whole family with various tasks to get everyone involved in creating the perfect gift for Mom.
Estimated time: 30 Minutes – Estimated Cost: $23 (makes three “vases”)
You will need (per vase):
(1) Empty All Times bottle.
(1) 12’ piece of wood.
(1) Top plate connector/ceiling flanges (3/8″ size)
(1) 1″ split ring hanger.
(2) Wood screws to fit and hold the top plate connector to the wood.
(1) Piece of 3/8″ threaded rod, cut into 3″ pieces.
Lights or flowers of your choice.
Enjoy the bottle of All Times (no prob).
Remove the label from the bottle. This is the most frustrating step in this project as the glue from the label doesn’t like to come off. We recommend soaking the bottle in warm water for 5-10 minutes then scrubbing the label with a sponge.
If there is any residual glue on the bottle Goo Gone is a great option to really clean off the bottle.
With a hack saw, cut your threaded rod down to size. Ours were about 3″ long, as we didn’t want our bottles hanging out too far from the wall. If you are hanging multiple bottles, just be sure you cut your pieces to equal sizes.
Position the top-plate connector on your piece of wood and mark the holes where the screws will go. You’ll want to make sure that the plate is in the center of the wood and that the plate level or the bottle may hang crookedly. Once the plate is in the desired position go ahead and screw it onto the wood.
Screw in your cut rod pieces and attach your split ring hanger to the end of the rod piece. You’ll want to make sure that one side of the ring hanger is unscrewed – it makes it much easier to position the bottle.
Attach the bottle to the ring hanger, then tighten with a screwdriver to hold the bottle in place.
Decorate the bottle as you and your family see fit!
