All Times Fiery Apple Buffalo Wings

the air is getting cool and crisp,  leaves are starting to change colors, football is back on TV and It’s officially sweater weather!



but don’t worry, we have just the snack to warm you up! our infamous fiery apple buffalo wings are crispy and delicious, sweet with a hint of spice and perfect for the cooler weather!



Not only a staff and local favorite, but these infamous wings were featured on The Food Network’s hit show, Diners Drive-ins and Dives (Season 32, Episode 3 – Meat Sampler)!

Our Fiery Apple Wings can be found at the Citizen Cider pub and taste great with a delicious ice cold cider!

Ingredients

 

Wings:

3 cups All Times Sparkling Apple cider

1 cup kosher salt

2 tablespoons juniper berries

1 tablespoon black peppercorns

2 bay leaves

2 pounds chicken wings

2 tablespoons paprika

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon onion powder

1/2 tablespoon chili powder

1/2 tablespoon dried oregano

1/2 tablespoon salt

 

Fiery Apple Buffalo Sauce:

1 cup hot sauce

1/2 cup All Times Sparkling Apple Cider

1/4 cup cider syrup

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon onion powder

1/4 tablespoon cayenne pepper

1/2 pound (2 sticks) butter


INSTRUCTIONS

Combine cider, salt and 1 cup water in a container. Tie juniper, peppercorns and bay leaves in some cheesecloth to keep it together (this is called a sachet). Rinse the chicken wings and add them to the container, store in the fridge overnight or for up to two days.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Mix together paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, oregano and salt in a large bowl. Take wings out of the brine and rinse thoroughly. Rub wings with the spice mixture and place on a baking sheet. Bake for 30 to 45 minutes, or until crispy.

 Next make the Wing Sauce. Combine the hot sauce, cider, cider syrup, garlic powder, onion powder and cayenne in a large saucepan. Cook for 30 minutes on medium heat.

Melt the butter in a separate saucepan. Once sauce base has cooked down slowly, add the melted butter into the base and whisk thoroughly.

Toss the cooked wings in the Fiery Apple Wing Sauce.
